Eid ul Fitir Anouncement

It has been confirmed that the new moon for Shawwal has been sighted in many places in particular South Africa, so we will be celebrating Eid ul Fitir, tomorrow, Friday 15th June 2018.

Eid ul Fitir Namaz Prayers

Eid ul Fitir Namaz Prayers will stand at following times.  Arrive early for the talk.

First Jamaat :        8:30 am

Second Jamaat :   9:45 am

Fitrana is payable at the rate of £5 for each person in your house and should be paid before Eid Namaz.

You should follow the sunnah and walk to the Masjid for Eid while reciting the takbir :

“Allaho-Akbar, Allaho-Akbar. La ila-ha ill-lal-lah. Allaho-Akbar, Allaho-Akbar. Wa-lilahill hamd.”

You should return home by a different route. Locals should walk, others car share. This means we make better use of our limited parking without disturbing our neighbours.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed EID MUBARAK from all at Jamia Masjid Swafia.

Ghiyarvi Sharif and Khatame Quran-e-Pak

The monthly Ghiyarvi Sharif programme will be held with the completion of the recitation of the Quran-e-Pak during Travhee namaaz on Monday 11 June 2018. This will be the 27th night of Ramadan often believed to be Laylat al-Qadar – The Night of Power or Destiny. The programme will start after Isha/Travhee namaaz starting at 11:00 pm.

There will be a short but enlightening talk. You are invited to attend along with your older sons and friends to this special night, which will end with the communal Dua and distribution of Tabarak.

The masjid will stay open for those wishing to offer further ibadaat.
