*Jamia Masjid Swafia Covid-19 Update*

  • As the government have eased lockdown restrictions they have now allowed all places of worship to open for individual prayer on 15th June.

As Muslims the reason we pray in the Masjid is to gain the benefit of congregational prayer. Since congregational prayers are not yet allowed, the Masjid will not open on the 15th June.

The Masjid has not taken this decision lightly and takes the health and well-being of all attendees and the local community very seriously.

The Masjid is currently working towards re-opening on 4th July 2020 subject to government guidance.

In due course detailed guidance will be released along with consent forms for all Namazi’s. A full Covid-19 risk assessment is currently being prepared to ensure the safety of all Namazi’s.

Children’s Islamic classes will remain suspended until further notice. Other Masjid activities and gatherings such as Ghiyarvi programme, Phooris, Khatams etc will also remain suspended.

We appreciate your patience during the lockdown period and your further co-operation as the Masjid begins to re-open.

Further updates will appear on www.swafia.org.uk Facebook and on Swafia Azaan Radio.
